Snow Day!

Yay, another snow day! I'm so close to graduating and these days are pushing me back but I'd be lying if I didn't say I've enjoyed them. Today I spent the bulk of my free time working on a vest I made for Brett, it came out really well; except for the pockets, I hate pockets! I could not figure them out. I need to check the pocket section out in my Vogue sewing book I got for Christmas.
Tomorrow we're gonna make home made playdough. Here's the recipe if you'd like to try it.

Uncooked Playdough
Materials

  • Bowl
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup salt
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • Tempera paint or food coloring
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Directions
  1. In bowl, mix water, salt, oil, and enough tempera paint or food coloring to make a bright color.
  2. Gradually add flour and cornstarch until the mixture reaches the consistency of bread dough.
  3. Store covered.

My mom used to make this for us all the time when we were younger. It's a whole lot better than the stuff you buy in the store, plus cheap and right now we need to save every dime we can; more on that later. Do you have any other good indoor ideas for snow days? It's supposed to be 30 degrees below zero, so outside is out of the question!
