Easy Peezy Lemon Squeezy Camera Strap Tutorial!

Seriously probably one of the easiest projects ever! Perfect for someone trying out a sewing machine:
This was a Christmas/Birthday present for my friend Jenna. She came over and picked her fabric out which easily enough came from my Moda Jelly Roll seriously one of the best buys ever.
Items you need:
Sewing machine
Iron
thread
2 pieces of fabric

  • Start off by measuring your strap and make sure to include the width of the little leather patchesadd a 1/2" for seam allowance and cut
  • flip your fabric inside out and pin
  • sew the two long sides shut using 1/4" seam allowance for each side.
  • turn right side out and iron. I like to use starch to make it stay nice and stiff, but if you don't want to you don't have to.
  • flip the ends inside and stitch
the reason this may be a little hard is because the opening is so small you have stitch from the inside.
press the cover once more, slide it onto your strap and you're set. Let me know if you try it out, you can customize this with ruffles, or even adding more than two different fabrics. We kept it simple so her husband could slip it off easily. Have an awesome Monday. Don't forget to come back tomorrow for Hair Tip Tuesday!
