Mmmm Banana Bread!

With the sun shining and the weather slowly but surely warming up I thought that today would be a great day for some coffee and banana bread. Than I thought how awful it would be to want banana bread but not know how to make it. My mom gave me this recipe for my wedding shower almost 3 years ago and I've made it at least a dozen times since then and in my opinion it's the best I've ever had! Would you like the recipe? Here is how it goes:

 Cream 3/4 c. Butter
  • 11/2 c. Sugar
  • 11/2 c. mashed banana
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. almond
In a separate bowl
  • 1 c. regular flour
  • 1 c. whole grain flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
Add to banana mixture alternately with 1/2 c. of sour milk (to make sour milk add 2 tsp. of vinegar to regular milk)
Bake at 350-375 degrees for 1hr. and 10 min. or until knife inserted comes out clean.

For the topping:
mix a handful of brown sugar, lemon juice, nutmeg and cinnamon together and pour on top.
