Weekend Warriors: Wedding Gifts

My lovely friend Jenna P. will soon join the married party. I'm lucky enough to be involved with the wedding and I have to say she's one of the most encouraging, and original people I know. I told her long ago that I was gonna make her presents and she was happy with that, so I thought long and hard about what I wanted to make her and this is what I came up with.
This little oven mitt was super easy and I want to make one for myself. I sense a tutorial coming!

I also liked the idea of making her a pillow with her wedding date printed on it, so I went over to Made and used Dana's great tutorial on how to use freezer paper to print. You have to try this, it was amazing! Special props go to my husband for being the X-acto Knife Master and cutting out all of these numbers.
The last present was an idea I got from a furniture store in Downtown Omaha, we saw these gorgeous tile coasters that had the & sign on it, Although Jenna was tempted to buy them she passed so I figure I'd apply the same print technique and make these one of a kind coasters. Jenna enjoyed guessing the fonts at her shower, unfortunately I forgot to write them down!
These were the lovely ladies in attendance at the shower Rachel threw. It was so much fun to catch up with people, I feel so out of the loop after moving to Gretna. Rachel's Mom made a few of the aprons the girls are wearing. She's a talented seamstress and used to make all of the costumes for dance teams. Tracy is going to educate me on my serger machine and I couldn't be more excited, I want to learn this bad boy!

Hope you enjoyed your weekend, I'll see you tomorrow!

It was so much fun to do these little projects and it's nice to know they're going to someone who appreciates the time put into it.  Yay for Handmade!
