I think this lace insert turned out a lot better than my last attempt but I would love to do it with black lace.
This was considered an easy pattern but I seem to always have the hardest time with patterns labeled easy, I don't know if it's just because I'm lazier or bored but the zipper on this thing was a pain. I think that will be something I need to do more of, inserting zippers! Any advice on some good tutorials or videos?
And this of course is my fashionable friend Jenna in her cute "bubble wrap" pink dress. If you haven't been to Omaha Fashion Week yet, go. We mid-westerners are pretty awesome!

That dress is ADORABLE! The lace looks great! I am so impressed you made it so quickly! And the color is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI bought a sewing machine this weekend so I will have to try to share some stuff that I make with it. :)
Woohoo!! What kind of machine?
DeleteSo I have been looking online from time to time (I was originally going to steal my mom's sewing machine when we drove cross country until she wouldn't let me have it!) and I just wanted something simple and small. Last week, I found out that IKEA now sells sewing machines and they are rated pretty well actually (by a few different sewing blogs online). Since I had to go to IKEA anyway with my brother and his friends (they just moved into a new apartment), I decided to get one. They're only $70 and seem quite functional. I haven't done TOO much stuff yet, because I'm leaving the country for a week starting tomorrow and trying to organize. However, I will let you know how it goes. My brother wants some self-warming gloves so that may be one of my first projects on it!
DeleteAwesome! We don't have an ikea, I wish we did it sounds more addicting than Target already is for me!
DeleteI love this combo! I agree, it's a success!

Thanks so much!
DeletePretty dress! :) Love the colors and lace. I've only inserted one zipper and it didn't end up being quite invisible. Turns out I don't have the right foot. The Colleterie has a good tutorial though: http://www.coletterie.com/tutorials-tips-tricks/tutorial-installing-an-invisible-zipper
ReplyDeleteThanks Emily. I did find that tutorial and I bought the foot I'll have to try it the next time I make something with a zipper.
